View Full Version : Toolie or not toolie . That is the question .

Toolies are an insidious and predatory part of schoolies week not doubt , and whilst not directly labelled a toolie , he would seem to suffer guilt by association in my opinion .

Schoolies party attack on teen
A VIOLENT attack on a young woman has marred schoolies' celebrations on the Gold Coast as Victorians prepare to head to Queensland.
Natalie Montoya, 18, was punched in the face by a 19-year-old man outside a fast food restaurant in Surfers Paradise, where thousands of school leavers were celebrating.
The Gold Coast girl suffered a broken nose and severe bleeding in the attack early yesterday.
Unfortunate , to say the least .
Ms Montoya was sitting with friends outside a Hungry Jack's restaurant about 2am when the man walked past.
"We asked if he wanted a bite of our hamburger. He just looked at us and said 'you are a f------ slut'," friend Samantha Lock said.
Ms Lock said she and her friends remonstrated with the man and started pushing him before he punched her friend in the face. "He just king-hit her," she said
I would probably gotten upset being mouthed off at and pushed around by a few schoolies .
The assault sparked wild scenes in the Surfers Paradise mall as hundreds of teens chased the girl's attacker down the street
That is a disturbing part for mine .
Police arrested a Gold Coast man and he was later charged with assault causing bodily harm.
The guy lives there , I'm sure he is just as entitled to be wandering the streets as the schoolies were . But needs to obviously keep his hands to himself . But he was not without justifiable provocation in my opinion .

But you just dont go around punching girls/women/females. It's a rule.
I cop enough stick over my views on violence (IE its not always a bad thing to let off some steam by swinging a few punches) but hitting the opposite sex brinhs nothing but trouble.

I agree , and not just the female portion of society either , I'm simply questioning the fact there is 'toolie' implication on the fella when he actually lives there and was getting shit at by some schoolies .
Also the fact the schoolies chased him en masse down the street is also a bit of a worry .
Fuck it , it's not really that big a deal but I'm bored and I saw it in the paper .
So how about all those tits then ?

I see your point. It's something I was thinking about yesterday when I read a story about how many toolies had been arrested in the last week. It'd be easy enough to get caught up in a misunderstanding and have no chance of a fair trial if you were a middle aged man up there right now, whether you lived there or not.

That's it . You may be simply walking around enjoying the sunshine taking a few upskirt shots on your mobile and you are immediately labelled a toolie .
It's bullshit .

Hitting a girl is just not the thing to do obviously, but girls can be fuckin annoying at times so it doesn't surprise me that a guy might 'lose it' and cross the line.
BTW - He was probably right on the money when he called her a slut. Truth hurts.

The other week the neighbours daughter (1 year out of high school) had friends over and the screeching and squawking was unbearable. I remember at my schoolies there were few events for us so we were in pubs n clubs and the penalty for getting unruly was that an undercover cop would ask for ID and you'd be in the shit.
Now that the GC has realised the kiddie dollar reigns supreme it seems anyone else who shows up on the Coast at that time of year is dubbed a pervert.

Pretty disgraceful act.
Although, a lot of toolies are blamed for trouble on schoolies/leavers, they just don't do that much damage. A lot of the stuff that that happens on leavers (as it is called over here in WA) is done by the leavers themselves and not the toolies that go.
Leavers over here are a protected species. As soon as anything happens, they'll go squealing to the cops and blame the older crowd there, of which are mostly uni students who go to just drink and have a good time.
Having said that, I enjoyed Leavers when I went. :thumbsu:

That is the part that shits me . If you wanted to go , or you live , up there you would be carrying a stigma around simply by enjoying all the Coast has to offer .
Why you would want to be there at the same time as all those hormone driven fuck-rats is another question entirely .
Of course there are the predators on the system and they should be dealt with accordingly .

When I were a lad it was a Uni thing too. Everyone had a friend or two from other years at school so it wasn't a big thing to go to two or even three schoolies weeks in consecutive years.
Like I said now they have a pejorative term for any non-schoolie who shows up because everyone wants to blame someone for their daughter's slutty behaviour "It's the older people preying on our poor innocent teenagers." I remember a few years out of school being invited down by a girl a couple of years younger than me with the purpose of the visit being made pretty obvious.
Plenty of reports this year of girls being offered drugs for sex - by their peers. When I went you would not have dreamed of doing that. Apart from some pot we didn't have the cheap party drugs you can get now anyway.
At the moment it just looks like the kids think they own the GC and even locals can't go out without being made to feel like they are potential rapists.
Rotten bloody kids. BAH!

One thing I suppose is with all those estrogen charged , alchohol fuelled girls running about it gives a whole new meaning to Wet and Wild and Dreamworld and the like .
