Yep, it's Reverse Auction Time! :thumbsu:

The lowest, unique bid PM'd to Chief by 11:59 PM on October 19th 2006 wins you the right to buy one 1GB iPod Shuffle - http://www.apple.com/au/ipodshuffle/ - from us at that bid price.

How do I bid?

If you're not already a member of The Limbo Club, register and confirm your user account.

Then PM your bid to Chief from your Limbo Club account's User CP section, including your name, address and a contact number.

(Bids must be a positive value in a 5c increment. e.g. $30.45 is valid, $30.48 is not.)

To be eligible to win, at some point before the deadline you must contribute at least one (decent) post or thread to limboclub.com. Anything that breaks the rules does not count (including 'worthless' posts).

You could pick up one of these little beauties for as little as 5 cents!

How is the winner decided?

The lowest, unique bid wins.

After subtracting ineligible entries (multiple bids from same person, user did not contribute an eligible post before the deadline etc), if there are NO unique bids we find the lowest value with the fewest bids and a tie-breaker question will be posted on limboclub.com for everyone who made that bid to answer.

The first person to post the correct answer in that question thread will be declared the winner at their bid price.

Easy!

Place your bid (after reading the Fine Print below):

http://www.limboclub.com/forum/usercp.php

Fine Print

Only 1 bid per user. Only 1 iPod Shuffle is available. Anyone registering multiple accounts to make multiple bids will be disqualified. Prize not redeemable for cash. Judge decision is final. Promotion is run under Queensland laws.

Bids must be a positive value in a 5c increment. e.g. 30.45 is valid, 30.48 is not. Bids must include the bidders name and address and contact number - if you win the auction the iPod will be sent only to the name and address on your entry, no other may be substituted.

We reserve the right to plug loopholes in these rules if someone takes the piss. We also reserve the right to disqualify any user who attempts to get around the one person, one bid rule.

We will not give or sell your personal information to anyone else for any reason.

Nope.

THE WINNER IS....

Kat11 with her bid of 20c (in the form of four soft drink cans redeemable for 5c in SA).

There was a 10c bid but that person didn't include their contact phone number, just a PO Box. It pays to read the rules kids.

Kat11 you will be contacted with an address to which you must send your four cans. Upon receipt of the cans a brand spanking new ipod shuffle will be ordered for you direct from Apple.

Thank you to the tens of people who took part in this wildly successful competition.

Sorry to butt in.

Bids must include the bidders name and address and contact number
Why should your entry be declared eligible if you didn't include the right info?

here is the exchange of PM's.

i gave him my address (which he said i didnt give) and name, he then said entry recorded.

if he really cared about my number then he would have asked for it in the first place instead of saying 'OK. Entry Recorded.' he asked for name at not number, i give him name and not number. also, he has my number from a few months back anyway.

can you explain why i shouldnt win?

My error - you did give me your name. You didn't give me your phone number. I prompted everyone who didn't give me their full details, but only ONCE. I didn't even have to do that. You aren't the only one who entered incorrectly even after a prompt.

You stuffed up. Kat won because she entered correctly. You want me to penalise her and award the prize to you. Not gonna happen.

"Entry recorded" means I recorded all the info you gave me. Had you ponied up a contact number that field would have been filled in and when the bids were tallied you would have been eligible. You didn't. The rules state that invalid entries will be removed:

After subtracting ineligible entries (multiple bids from same person, user did not contribute an eligible post before the deadline etc), if there are NO unique bids we find the lowest value with the fewest bids and a tie-breaker question will be posted on limboclub.com for everyone who made that bid to answer. It is unfortunate for you that you did not read the rules correctly. You were even prompted so your bid would be valid but for a second time you didn't send in complete details. Entry recorded, at the deadline it was found to be invalid. Better luck next time.
