View Full Version : Whose online feature

There is no way to tell who is currently online (unless no one is actually online at the moment).
I think this is a handy feature because then people can tell when assholes like me are on line and avoid this place like the plague.

I agree, I dunno if there is any point sticking around as i cannot see if anyone is on.

It's who's online
You can see it on the left hand side of the home page

I am not really a "spelling and grammar nazi" as such, because I can live with people making mistakes, however it still annoys me so at random times I will point them out. My grammar also needs work at times.
So, I'm more of a "spelling and grammar country town copper"

Yeah, but I'm too lazy to look there. :o
A list at the bottom of the forum pages (and on threads) would be good. :thumbsu:

This is one of those cases where it is important to remember that possessive pronouns never take apostrophes, even though possessive nouns do (see it’s/its (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/its.html)). “Who’s” always and forever means only “who is,” as in “Who’s that guy with the droopy mustache?” or “who has,” as in “Who’s been eating my porridge?” “Whose” is the possessive form of “who” and is used as follows: “Whose dirty socks are these on the breakfast table?”
I'm sorry I used the possessive form of who. Thanks to an internet lesson I am now back on track and won't make that mistake again.
Thank you for hauling me back into line PK. Still think the who's online should be at the bottom of the forum.

thanks for that :thumbsu:
Just a point of clarification: I don't disagree with the suggestion to put 'Who's online' at the bottom of the forum, I was just pointing out there is an interim solution available, until the losers whose job it is to run this place fix it ;)
PS - who are you

I am Sancho.
Sorry that was an orgazmo joke. I'm no one really just a lurker who isn't lurking much anymore.

Hah, I never noticed this before. :o Bottom of the Quick Links tab>Who's Online. It's on every forum page and you can see what everyone else (including the Guests) are reading and at what time. :thumbsu:

I did it more efficiently than you, and I thought it appropriate seeing as the home page has been mentioned a coupla hundred times

Sorry PK I'm going to have to score this Kruzin's way.
The screen capture sealed it plus he was in there first.
Thanks to both of you though for the info. Positive rep points to you both

This has been bothering me, it says the most users ever online was 79 on Sept 11 at 8:59pm - how the fuck is that possible? I didn't think this place even had 79 legit members, the most I've ever seen online was 20-odd, maaaaybe 30. Was there some kinda glitch with vB? Because I refuse to believe that many people were logged in. Surely people were off mourning the anniversary of the loss of a couple of buildings and too busy to be on here?
