Got into a massive argument with this old woman at the game today. Turned up late, and subsequently ended up having to sit way up the back on level 3. At about 3/4 time, realised that the Auskick kids had all gone home, so there were seats right at the front of level 3. Went down there, then this old wog woman went absolutely spastic, claiming that they were reserved seats only, and that she paid $800 a year for them (on level 3? Bitch got ripped) and would be damned if someone was just going to steal them "from her".

Was too tired to give a shit, so just went off and told the security staff that she lit up a cigarette and had been swearing at children the whole game and went off to go get a pie. Came back, she's still arguing with them, then sees me and starts yelling at me again, that I should tell them that I made it all up.

Then all these Doggies supporters behind her, decided to back my version of events, causing an even bigger shitfight.

OK, I'm a sad panda after the Blues loss to the Hawks :(

I'm watching the last quarter on the TV now but I haven't seen anything else nor did I listen to the game bar the last few minutes as I was watching the Ben Carbonaro (Sunbury) Lions pull Melton's pants down in the Ballarad FL.

Listening to ABC Radio on the way home and the the commentators are saying that despite losing this could be the day that the Blues officially "arrive" as a serious football team. Mark McClure (former Carlton captain and multiple premiership CHF) even described it as the Blues best performance after "7 years of rubbish".

Still the Blues have now lost 2 close ones this year so maybe it's something we'll need to work on.

On a postitive note, I tipped the Hawks, so my footy tipping is looking good, 2/2 this weekend so far :thumbsu:

I like the Richmond medical team's defence for playing Richo, "well he's played with injury before and reckoned he was right to play so we had to respect that". Aren't those clowns supposed to be the fucking medical experts? Every player wants to get out there and play, it's up to the medical staff to tell them not to if they think it's too risky.

I reckon Richmond must have inherited St Kilda's old medical staff from the Grant Thomas days. The best thing Ross Lyon and the new board did was splash out money on a decent medical team. Since then we've had hardly any soft tissue injuries, they've even managed to keep Kosi on the park.

Yeah we should have worn our traditional jumper that day. I'd expect a guy who makes $300K+ for kicking a ball around and has played all his life to eat them for breakfast.

I have this theory on drafting ruckmen though, in that it isn't really a good idea to use a high pick on them because they're so hit and miss. Notice how a large percentage of gun rucks aren't high picks? IMO if you need a ruckmen you're looking at investing around 6 or 7 seasons before they hit their straps anyway, hence, you're better off trading the pick for a known quantity or drafting a developed midfielder (like a Daniel Rich, Brock, Ziebell) that will show a bit in his first year and then you can trade for a good ruck.

Murphy - Ryder, Pendlebury

I agree with what you say that we'd be a better team with Ryder ahead of Murphy, but that is a reflection of poor list management rather than picking the wrong bloke there. Especially as Ryder has probably had a season and a half of decent senior footy, rather than just potential. Pendlebury, whilst a bloody good pick up hasn't done anything that Murphy has on an individual level, which doesn't make him "far and away a better player". Would prefer Murphy to Pendlebury anyway.

Gibbs - Selwood by so much it isn't funny

Admittedly, I pushed for this at draft time in '06 (....and James Sellar), but early days yet. Not to mention if the positions were reversed, Gibbs would probably be playing the Mackie role at Geelong, and getting a million and one cheap kicks, whilst Selwood would probably be in the Russell role....whatever that is.

Kreuzer - Morton, Cotchin

Cotchin will be good, but neither have shown shit. Kreuzer's won games off his own boot already. Morton to Kreuzer is nowhere near it.

And I won't even start on Walker.

No arguments there. Just another player we've recruited in a long line over 10 years who've we've taken a look at and thought "Hmm, 189cm, yeah, he'll be 195 in no time"
