I'd like to commend the umpires for not letting popularity sway their decision. Their voting reflected that they have the best perspective of a game, and that they weren't mislead by a bunch of cheap stats. Hardly a new thing.

I personally didn't think Swan would win because even though he gets huge possession numbers and has tatts, he just doesn't seem that noticeable. Also, players who suck up to the umps get favoured - just ask Wayne Carey - def one of the greatest ever but rarely polled.
