Yes I was going post that one too eventually. (start off current than get to old extreme)

Amazing thing is that not only did he live but he returned to training only about 4 days later and back playing in less than a fortnight.

In short, ice hockey players are fucking hardcore!

Fucking tough sport that one.

Not only is it legal to body check and get in punch ups but you have the puck and other players sticks/skates to worry about. Falling on rock hard ice wouldn't be much fun either.

Its such an easy problem to fix as well. Fucking crazy pics. I wonder what the survival rate of severing your interior corotid artery actually is. At a complete guess you would think it would have to be less than 10%. Probably less than 5%.

P.S Ice Hockey is the fastest (I spose you'd call it all human) sport in the world.

Still, the worst injury has to be Nathan G. Brown's leg.

I ended up looking at injuries on youtube last night due to this thread and it's the most gnarly injury ever.

WTF WAS THAT? His leg was fucking sideways.

The arm injury to the Hungarian weightlifter at last year's Olympics was pretty umpleasant viewing as well.
