Brett Lee, 20/5/53/5 econ 2.65 no nb

bowled consistantly over 90 mph and constantly swung it the other way

every other genuine bowler in the attack got smashed

i don't wana say i told you so, but i fucking well told you so

If he bowls like that, he'll deserve his spot, and I'll gladly eat humble pie.

My concern was always that he'd get put in the side without earning his position back.

Yeah, like I said before, if Lee gets back to bowling his best and has the form on the board, then he deserves to be picked. Not only for his bowling, but he's pretty handy down the order with the bat.

Whichever quick misses out will be unlucky. You'd think MJ, Siddle & Lee are certanties now, with either the Hilf or Clark missing out. There's no fucking way they should pick Hauritz though, no matter how much Cardiff is supposed to spin.

That should only be relevant if you've got two guys who are neck and neck on form/ability, and you can't split the two on bowling.

Yeah I agree. Lee needs to be picked for his bowling first & foremost, but I'm sure the fact that he can handle a bat would be a factor in him being picked ahead of guys like Clark or Hilfenhaus.

The same goes for Mitchell Johnson, he would probably be picked for his bowling anyway but his batting makes him a nailed on certainty.

FFS. He takes one bag of 5 against a 2nd rate English team of batsmen we have never heard of and everyone is back on his bandwagon.

You guys are a disgrace.

I was never off his wagon Jaymin. That's the point of this thread. I've backed him form day 1 and said people would be all ovr him when he inevitably begins to perform.

I'm definitely not back on his bandwagon - but, if he forces his way into the side through actual performances, and not just telling us that he's benching more than he ever has, then I want be too upset.

The other thing is, and I haven't seen the highlights yet (when I was watching, they were bowling like shit), apparently he was getting really vicious, really late, reverse swing?

Well that fixed that (http://www.cricinfo.com/engvaus2009/content/story/412965.html)

Australia's Ashes preparations have been thrown into disarray with their most senior paceman, Brett Lee (http://www.cricinfo.com/australia/content/player/6278.html), ruled out of the opening two Tests, at Cardiff and Lord's, with a left side strain

Hmm...not sure how i feel about that. I mean, Lee's hopeless but this might be the break that gets Hauritz in the side

That is fucked. Lee was in good form and I fucking hate Hauritz. Seriously, he is fucken useless. He is a better batsman than bowler.

JESUS FUCK, JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT BRETT LEE MIGHT ACTUALLY NOT LET US DOWN, HE FUCKING DOES AGAIN!

So he's either shit and fit, or awesome and unfit.

FUCK.

better off him breaking down now rather than in the first test. tbh i wanna see how the team goes without him first up. you know that siddle, johnson and co wont be smiling or patting batsmen on the back during the game

Maybe Binga should've played Co**** Cricket, instead of pretending that 2*2 over spells was going to prove his fitness for Test Cricket.

This is why we can't pick that fucking spastic cripple Watto, if we end up picking him for any Ashes Test and he breaks down I will suicide bomb the cunt.
