And while I understand maybe 5% of all the shit goes on in those threads and give even less of a shit it is obvious that it is a hell of a lot more intelligent that what goes on on the SR&P board on BF....

Also a separate board will give rick an opportunity to go nuts with vitriol without any of us having to see it.

I don't know if its necessary - I mean it seems to work pretty well at the moment i.e. the people who enjoy the political talk stay involved, and the people that don't, leave the thread.

Same goes for when I see posts about shit I don't like, or a thread deviates away from something I enjoyed discussing.

As a great Lance Uppercut once said, approximately: Threads are organic, you can't whinge about the way they turn out.

Shit, it's what makes TLC, TLC. If we get a bit more grown up political talk on the main board, that's because people like talking about it. Personally I get better political discussion here than I ever found on SRP, so I stick with it - and clearly I'm not the only bloke who has any kind of interest or knowledge on this stuff. It's awesome to actually see the amount of replies on there, because imo most of the established blokes on this forum are reasonably intelligent and can actually have a civil discussion on politics. It's in stark contrast to most political boards I've posted on, where everything is down party lines or lacking any real insight.
