For fucks sake!
I just heard a report on the news urging people not to try and track the movement of Mercury while it went across the sun. Even heard an expert asking people to put sunglasses on before looking at the Sun. Really? Good advice.

Saw a great warning label the other day...
On a roll of white electric fence tape.
Warning do not use as string on kites...

Unbelievable what some people need warnings for.

Is it Ok to stare directly at the Sun now that Mercury is nowhere near it?

I think you can look at it in a mirror or something. The glass absorbs the harmful photons and reflects the good ones at your retina.

I'm pretty you mean a magnifying glass. Only an idiot would look at the Sun in a mirror.

I think you have to do something with a telescope and a piece of white paper to observe the sun
